NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present Charles Hurt in a guest trombone recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Cole Concert Hall on the 91直播 campus.

Hurt, who is professor of trombone at Texas State University and principal trombonist of the Austin Symphony for 30 years, will be the guest artist of the 91直播 Trombone Studio and will teach and perform on campus for three days.

Hurt will work with the 91直播 Trombone Choir on Monday and perform a solo trombone recital, accompanied by pianist Ron Petti, 91直播 director of accompanying, on Tuesday. Hurt will teach students in private lessons throughout the three days and will also teach a master class for all trombone students at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Cole Concert Hall.

His recital will consist of a variety of pieces that are standard to the trombone's solo repertoire. Among the pieces to be performed are "Romanza Appassionata" by C.M. Von Weber, "Piece Concertante" by Samuel Rousseau and "Maid of the Mist" by Herbert L. Clarke.

Cole Concert Hall is located in the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building, located at 2210 Alumni Drive.
