As an 91直播 criminal justice student, you鈥檒l do more than listen to lectures. You鈥檒l put your investigative skills to use in a variety of hands-on learning activities, including our simulated crime scene field exercises.
During our crime scene simulations, you鈥檒l work with a team of other students to solve simulated robberies, home invasions and other types of crimes. You鈥檒l also learn the basics of scene investigation, including
- securing and protecting the scene
- gathering and analyzing scientific evidence
- lifting latent fingerprints using powder and tape, and
- measuring and sketching the area.
Requirements and prerequisites
To participate in a simulated crime scene field exercise, students must be pursuing a major or minor in criminal justice and must be enrolled in one of the following courses:
- CJS 201 - Criminal Investigation
- CJS 375 - Survey of Forensic Science
All participants receive both a team grade and an individual grade based on their work and participation.
